The former KU coach is a native of Garland, Texas. Beaty began his coaching career at North Dallas High School in 2001 before serving as a head coach at Irving MacArthur High School from 2002-05. Beaty compiled a 39-15 record as the head coach of North Dallas and Irving MacArthur.

Former Kansas football coach David Beaty is the new head coach at Denton High School in Texas, the Denton Independent School District announced in a press release. Beaty’s hiring was approved at a board meeting on Tuesday.
