Anaheim Ducks forward Trevor Zegras was suspended three games Monday for a head shot that knocked Detroit Red Wings center Michael Rasmussen out of Sunday’s game late in the second period. The subjective NHL supplemental discipline process never plays out to unanimous approval,
Rasmussen had only played eight minutes in the game before he took a hit to the head from Zegras. No penalty was called on the play. Earlier Monday morning, it was revealed that Zegras will have a hearing with Player Safety for the hit.
