ATLANTA — Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp has declared a state of emergency as temperatures in the Peach State are expected to be below freezing on Tuesday. It comes as crews with the Georgia Department of Transportation brined the roads across Georgia. The state of emergency will run through Tuesday, Jan. 28.

As a winter storm dumped snow across the region Tuesday night, Georgia road crews started plowing snow off highways, but authorities say they need you to stay off the roads.

A State of Emergency will go into effect at noon Tuesday in the City of Savannah as officials prepare for expected winter weather.
