Flight Risk is directed by Mel Gibson. Gibson rose the fame after his leading roles in the Mad Max and Lethal Weapon series, but found himself cast out of Hollywood in the mid-2000's after he was accused of domestic abuse and making racist, antisemitic, and homophobic remarks.

New in theaters, Flight Risk marks Gibson’s first turn as a director since 2016’s Hacksaw Ridge, which earned Oscar nominations including Best Picture, Best Directing for Gibson and Best Actor for Andrew Garfield. As such, Wahlberg knew going into the film that he was in great hands before the action thriller took flight.
