Jordan Binnington and Connor McDavid were two of Canada’s biggest heroes in last Thursday’s 4 Nations Face-Off championship win versus the United States, and in a week’s time, they could be NHL teammates.

For the second time in his career, Jordan Binnington delivered on the big stage at TD Garden, lifting Team Canada to a 4 Nations victory.

St. Louis Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington stood tall to help Team Canada clinch the 4 Nations Face-Off championship over Team USA, overcoming widespread criticism from doubters throughout the NHL's new midseason tournament.

The Blues netminder played all four games with Canada at the 4 Nations posting a .907 save percentage and 2.37 goals-against average. In the NHL, he's appeared in 41 games with St. Louis with a 2.82 GAA and a subpar .899 SV%.

“That’s what sports are about in some ways,” Binnington said, a gold medal around his neck after 31 stops handed Canada victory over the United States in the 4 Nations final. “And as an athlete and a competitor, there’s always gonna be that doubt. You gotta use that as motivation and find a way and believe in yourself to get the job done.”

Binnington saved the game multiple times in overtime for Canada, and at the same time quieted the concern over the country's goaltending.

NHL legend Don Cherry has suggested that the Boston Bruins should trade for St. Louis Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington.

The gold medal dangling around his neck was proof of that as he sat at his postgame press conference Thursday. He’d just backstopped Canada to a 3-2 overtime victory against the United States in the title game of the 4 Nations Face-Off, and he was absorbing all the kudos coming his way.

Binnington stopped 28 of 29 shots on Sunday night against Colorado, and the only goal he gave up was Devon Toews’ tip from the high slot.
