Vince Carter's 22-year NBA career was forever immortalized in the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Sunday night. While a short stint of his long career was spent with the Orlando Magic, his contributions were still immense.

The class also included high-scoring Phoenix star Walter Davis and former Knicks champion Dick Barnett, with Seimone Augustus and Michele Timms making it from the WNBA. Doug Collins and Pacers owner Herb Simon were inducted as contributors, along with amateur-level coaches Bo Ryan, Harley Redin and Charles Smith.

Most athletes will tell you that they don't play for individual accolades, but the Hall of Fame is different. Being recognized as the best of the best in your given sport validates all the hard work and sacrifices they made along the way.
