Serious injuries from in-flight turbulence are rare, but scientists say they may be becoming more common as climate change alters the jet stream.

Flight DL56 from Salt Lake City to Amsterdam "encountered significant turbulence" and landed at Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport, the airline said.

Delta Air Lines said 25 passengers were taken to local hospitals for evaluation and care after their flight was diverted to MSP.
