Nvidia has delivered such massive gains in recent years that it's easy to overlook how the stock has performed over the short term. Most investors would be happy with a 20% gain in a year. Nvidia's share price has soared over 20% in the last five weeks.

The selloff follows an earnings report by chip manufacturing equipment supplier ASML which indicated weaker-than-expected sales guidance for 2025, raising concerns

Consensus estimates forecast Nvidia to end the ongoing fiscal year 2025 with $125.5 billion in revenue, which would be a 125% increase from the previous year. However, analysts at KeyBanc are forecasting the company's revenue to come in at $130.6 billion in the current fiscal year (which will end in January 2025).

Semiconductor companies Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) and Arm Holdings (NASDAQ: ARM) are major players in that market, and shares have rocketed 166% and 100%, respectivley, year to date. But most Wall Street analysts expect the stocks to move in opposite directions over the next year.
