Prime Minister Narendra Modi returned to New Delhi earlier than scheduled from his Saudi Arabia visit following the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.

Various political parties in Jammu and Kashmir called for a shutdown in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday as a mark of protests against the terror attack in Pahalgam.The ruling National Conference backed the bandh call and said,

Modi, who had been on a two-day visit to Riyadh, immediately convened a high-level security meeting upon landing in New Delhi. Joined by National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, the Prime Minister vowed a swift and decisive response.
