A one-car auction took place at the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart over the weekend, and the car in question—a W196 R Stromlinienwagen from 1954—sold for €51,155,000 ($53,017,370).

The 1954 Mercedes W196 Streamliner driven by Formula One legends Juan Manuel Fangio and Stirling Moss was sold for a record $53 million (51.155mln euros) at auction in Stuttgart.
