Courvoisier Simmons, 31, was sentenced Thursday, May 22 to seven to 21 years for involuntary manslaughter and an additional two years for felony firearm.
Grand Rapids Police say a man was shot on Wealthy St. in Eastown early Friday morning and later died at the hospital.
The incident happened on March 2, 2024 when police conducted a traffic stop on S. Division Avenue. Rodriguez was in the backseat of the car and fled from police.
