Gas stations across Florida were resuming operations on Monday, easing fuel shortages as the state recovered from back-to-back hurricanes which caused widespread disruption.

In Palm Beach County, which usually has the state's highest gas prices, the average was $3.26, the same as last week, five cents less than a month ago, and 28 cents less than a year ago. Surging demand and power outages contributed to temporary gasoline outages across parts of the peninsula and along evacuation routes,

Gov. Ron DeSantis told reporters Saturday morning that the state opened three fuel distribution sites and planned to open several more.
