There’s not a lot of accounting being done in “The Accountant 2.” In Gavin’s O’Connor’s 2016 action-thriller “The Accountant,” neurodivergent number-cruncher Christian Wolff (Ben Affleck) was equally likely to choose a spreadsheet or a gun when balancing the metaphorical books.

Ben Affleck is back as forensic-accountant-turned-Rambo, Christian Wolff, in “The Accountant 2,” the sequel to his 2016 action hit, “ The Accountant .” Your Boston buddy reunites with director Gavin O’Connor and screenwriter Bill Dubuque, as well as Jon Bernthal, who reprises his role as Christian’s hitman brother, Braxton.

“The Accountant 2,” an Amazon MGM Studios release that opens in theaters Thursday, is rated R by the Motion Picture Association for strong violence, and language throughout. Running time: 125 minutes. Two and a half stars out of four.
