Blue Ghost, a moon lander from Firefly Aerospace, captured the first high-definition photos of the lunar sunset from the moon's surface.

In its dying moments, the Blue Ghost lunar lander captured the first high-definition images of a sunset on the Moon. The lunar nightfall differs subtly from an Earthly sunset, and the images could help unravel a long-standing mystery surrounding an unusual haze first observed on the Moon in the 1960s.

Thanks to pioneering materials from the private lander Blue Ghost, scientists may finally be able to explain the phenomenon of the "horizon glow" and the mechanism of "dust levitation" on the surface of the Moon.
