With the transfer portal open for men's basketball, several transfers have announced their intentions to join UNC next season.

One player the Tar Heels were connected to was forward Kanon Catchings, the f ormer four-star recruit who spent one season at BYU before entering the portal. North Carolina was considered the favorite to land him ahead of his visit this past weekend. But now, things are going in a different direction.

UNC has already lost junior big man and sophomore point guard Elliot Cadeau to the transfer portal, with the latter already announcing a commitment to Michigan. A handful of players on the Tar Heels’ target list have already or are expected to make official visits to campus over the coming days. The transfer portal closes on April 24.
