Felony assault charges have been filed against a suspect accused of an unprovoked attack on an Oakland police officer, Alameda County District Attorney Ursula Jones Dickson said Tuesday.

DA charges Lawrence Holley with assault with force following alleged assault of Oakland police officer on March 28. Holley allegedly punched police officer sitting in passenger seat.

Oakland rookie police officer assaulted while sitting in a police vehicle at a traffic light in East Oakland on Friday afternoon around 3:30pm. Suspect punches the officer through an open window.
