A Pro Controller for Nintendo Switch 2 is likely to happen, and there’s plenty that can be done to improve on the original model.

Now a new patent published by Nintendo suggests players may be able to turn the controllers upside down and plug them into the ‘wrong’ side of the system. Instead of reporting an error, the patent suggests the Switch 2 could instead flip the display 180 degrees, essentially allowing the user to turn the system upside down.

If we had to judge by the included diagrams, the trigger and bumper on each controller would act as the mouse click. Multiple included images show a hand with the thumb on the joystick. Multiple parts of the patent mention the use of the thumbstick, and we suspect it could act as the scroll wheel or serve some other scrolling function.

Pretty much every major rumor about the Switch 2 turned out to be true so far. And now a new Nintendo has confirmed another exciting one.

VGC reports that a new patent Nintendo filed suggests you can rotate the Switch 2 screen and still attach its bigger-than-before controllers.
