New Mississippi State baseball coach Brian O'Connor has made hires for his coaching staff. The Bulldogs hired Kevin McMullan and Matt Kirby on June 5, the first official pieces of O'Connor's staff. Both of them come from Virginia, where O'Connor was for the last 22 seasons.

The Bulldogs are retaining pitching coach Justin Parker with the new staff as O’Connor will keep the coach in his current position. Parker spent the last two seasons as MSU’s pitching coach and helped turn around a pitching department that was one of the worst in the Southeastern Conference the previous two seasons before he arrived.
