Before the bill was signed, Glock switches were only illegal federally. Now, anyone with the conversion device can be charged both federally and in the state.

The legislation makes it a state crime to possess the devices, which turn semi-automatic firearms into automatic ones.

The Alabama House committee approved a bill, Wednesday, to make the possession of Glock switch guns a Class C Felony.
