Fewer than 10 percent of the agency’s disaster workers are available to respond to Hurricane Milton and other calamities.

FEMA indicated Wednesday that it has less than 10% of its staff available for deployment amid preparations for the second major hurricane to hit the Southeast this month.

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas told MSNBC, "Everybody should rest confident that FEMA has the resources."
