Naturally, Hamilton has expressed his desire to retain a manual gearbox, just like the original F40, but Ferrari hasn’t built a three-pedal manual car in years and may not be especially enthralled by the idea.

Ferrari recently revealed its latest anniversary special hypercar, a continuation of the line that started with the F40. That model, the F80, shares very little with the manual F40. It's more focused on cutting-edge performance, complete with over 1100 hp from a combination of a twin-turbo V-6 and three electric motors.

Since joining Ferrari, Hamilton has done a lot to promote the Prancing Horse. For example, he re-created the famous scene from the film Ferris Bueller's Day Off when the valets take the 250 GT California Spyder out for a joyride (embedded above). He did a perfect job at remaking it.
