A boy was found safe inside a vehicle after someone drove off with the vehicle without permission early Thursday.

Regular travel by automobile to the desert wasn’t much of a thing until the highway was opened in 1916 when motorists took note and discovered the pleasant trip from Los Angeles to Palm Springs.
