Musk has launched a campaign against the sweeping Republican bill to advance Trump's agenda, and the president is considering how to respond, according to a White House official.

President Trump has not yet commented on Elon Musk's social media post about the Republican budget bill moving through Congress, which came days after the entrepreneur departed his White House post. CBS News' Ed O'Keefe reports on how Musk's influence may affect the president's moves.

In addition to the ban, which takes effect at 12:01 a.m. Monday, there will be heightened restrictions on visitors from Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan and Venezuela. “I must act to protect the national security and national interest of the United States and its people,” Trump said in his proclamation.

The new restrictions bar or limit travel from nearly 20 countries, drawing comparisons to Trump’s first-term travel ban.
