A tornado watch was issued about 4 p.m. by the National Weather Service for parts of Indiana, Kentucky and Illinois. The NWS predicts that several tornadoes are likely to form throughout the storm, with widespread tennis ball-sized hail and gusts up to 80 mph.

The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning at 7:18 p.m., now lasting until 8:15 p.m., to residents of Monroe County and neighboring counties, advising residents to shelter in place. A tornado watch is also in place for most of the State of Indiana, including Monroe County, until 11 p.m.

The storms were part of a severe weather system that spawned tornadoes in Wisconsin, downed trees, left thousands without power in the Great Lakes region
