OTTAWA — Teddy Stiga is the overtime hero for the United States at the 2025 IIHF World Junior Championship in Ottawa, leading them to a 4-3 OT victory over Finland on Sunday evening at the Canadian Tire Centre. Team USA has repeated as champions for the first time in their history at the tournament.

Teddy Stiga picked a great time to score his first goal for Team USA at the 2025 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships.

The United States won back-to-back gold medals for the first time and host Canada lost for the second year in a row in the quarterfinals.

The former Pope Francis star and current Boston College forward captained the gold-winning United States team.

Ryan Leonard and Cole Hutson both repeated as champions with Team USA, and Petr Sikora won bronze as the Washington Capitals prospects stepped up to help their respective teams to medals to close out World Juniors on Sunday.

The U.S. National Junior Team defeated Czechia 4-1 in the 2025 IIHF World Junior Championship semifinals on Saturday night. The victory was led by a handful of Boston College men’s hockey players. Forward Gabe Perreault put Team USA on the board at the 3:14 mark of the opening frame with assists from Eagles forward Ryan Leonard and defenseman Aram Minnetian.
