Heavy rains in South Korea have killed at least four people and forced over 1,300 to evacuate. Three people were found dead Thursday in a submerged car, a stream, and a flooded basement.

More than 5,000 people in South Korea have been forced into shelters as heavy rain pounded parts of the country for a third day, with the deluge killing at least four people and destroying property and infrastructure,

The record rainfall has prompted authorities to raise the weather-related disaster alert to its highest level.
