MONROE COUNTY, MI - The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy shot and killed a person Saturday, Dec. 28 while responding to a “suspicious subject.”

When there is a deputy-involved shooting, the incident is investigated by the Yuba-Sutter officer-involved-shooting and critical incident investigation team, led by chief investigators of the Yuba and Sutter County district attorneys’ offices, according to the news release.

Once found, the suspect "immediately engaged and began physically assaulting the Deputy Sheriff," the Monroe County Sheriff's Office said in a release.
