Ukraine’s incursion into Russia’s Kursk region is now entering its third month, with scores of settlements still firmly under its control.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says the Russians have attempted to push back Ukrainian troops from their positions in Russia's Kursk Oblast, but Ukraine's defence forces are holding their designated lines.

Russian Defence Minister Andrei Belousov said on Friday that AI-enabled drones were playing a key role on the battlefield in Ukraine and urged more training for troops on how to use them. Belousov's ministry published video of him touring a centre for next-generation drone technologies and speaking with drone operators.

It said Russia had fired 28 drones at Ukraine, of which 24 were destroyed in the Sumy, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, Mikolayev and Kherson regions. The Ukrainian chief of staff also said Kyiv's forces had struck a fuel depot overnight in the eastern Russian-occupied Lugansk region,
