More geomagnetic storm conditions are forecast for later in the week, pulling the aurora borealis farther south, though some states will likely have an earlier chance to see the phenomenon Thursday, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) aurora forecast, the northern lights may be viewable in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, and even parts of Connecticut and Rhode Island. The northern lights are typically most visible between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. according to NOAA.

Sky-watchers, you're in luck—the northern lights, or aurora borealis, may make another showing in June, above Alaska and the upper Midwest to the Northeast, according to NOAA.
