Lucasfilm unveiled plans for 'The Ninth Jedi' series, inspired by a 'Star Wars: Visions' short film during Star Wars Celebration in Tokyo.

Visions episode, The Ninth Jedi, is set to become a limited series in 2026. Following the story of Kara and her father's mission to restore the Jedi, the series will be animated by Production I.G., promising the same visual style and action that made the original short a fan favorite.

At the franchise’s celebration in Japan, LucasFilm announced the release date of its animated Star Wars: Visions Volume 3, along with a new spinoff series titled The Ninth Jedi, which stems from an earlier Volume 1 story.
