By annihilating Amanda Anisimova 6-0 6-0 in the Wimbledon final, the Polish tennis star finally ended her title drought and lifted her first title since the 2024 French Open.
Iga Swiatek pelted the perennial ryegrass, browned by weeks of tennis tussles, manipulating movements of Amanda Anisimova for a straight-sets demolition of the American on Saturday to capture her first Wimbledon title.
The 24-year-old from Poland won her sixth career major title with a 6-0, 6-0 victory, the first double-bagel major final since Steffi Graf’s win in the 1988 French Open.
Despite the Bad Homburg final loss, the Polish tennis star continued with her fine form at Wimbledon and now she is a win away from finally winning her first title on the slick surface. If she wins Wimbledon, that will also be her first title since last year's French Open.
