More than 34,000 Hulu subscribers had reported problems accessing the streaming service Sunday as the 97th Academy Awards were underway.

It doesn't offer much information about why the livestream cut off, but it does confirm that this was a Hulu issue that impacted only "some" viewers. Mashable entertainment editor Kristy Puchko was watching ABC's official Oscars livestream and didn't experience any issues.
