BOSTON—A federal judge Thursday said she would continue to let Harvard University enroll international students for now as the school fights the Trump administration in court. U.S. District Judge Allison Burroughs said a temporary restraining order would remain in place and that she planned to issue a preliminary injunction blocking the government from barring international enrollment at Harvard.

According to a court filing, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security sent Harvard a notice of intent on Wednesday to withdraw the school's certification under the federal Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP), which allows Harvard to enroll non-U.S. students.

The ruling came after the Trump administration revealed it would give the school 30 days to contest the cancellation of its ability to enroll students from abroad.
