The body of hiker Hannah Moody was found off a trail in central Arizona Thursday some 16 hours after she was reported missing, Scottsdale police say.

A woman who vanished while hiking in the Arizona desert has been found dead after a huge search, according to local police.

Hannah Moody, 31, was last seen the morning of May 21 at the Gateway Trailhead area of the preserve, Scottsdale police confirmed. Concerned friends first reported Moody missing at 7:50 p.m. that day after they hadn’t seen or heard from her, police said.
