According to Sheriff Chitwood, the boy, identified as Michael Millett, was riding bikes with his friends in the neighborhood when they stopped at the front entrance of the subdivision to pet the dogs.

An 8-year-old boy is dead after he was attacked by a pair of dogs Monday. The attack occurred just before 5 p.m. off CR 15A, north of Deland, according to a Volusia Sheriff’s Office Facebook post.
