Another arctic blast has sent temperatures plummeting across the United States, bringing “life-threatening” wind chills and dangerous cold to millions of Americans while yet another winter storm unleashes heavy snow across a wide swath of the country.

What We’re Tracking Temperatures have fallen to just below zero with a continued northerly breeze at 10-15mph. Wind chills are -15° to -20° this morning. Cloud cover stubbornly hangs on, but will decrease later this evening.

Because of the dangerously cold weather, Kansas City and surrounding areas are under a cold weather advisory until noon Thursday. The weather service said that wind chills as low as 25 degrees below zero will be possible, which could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.
