Chase Briscoe will lead the field to green in Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.Briscoe took the pole with a lap of 182.852 mph.Briscoe, who will start from the pole on Sunday also took the pole in another crown jewel race the Daytona 500 back in February.
The main event Saturday is a 300-mile race for the Xfinity Series starting at 4:30 p.m. Practice begins at 11 a.m. with qualifying at 12:05 p.m. Chase Elliott won last year’s race in the No. 17 Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports. Teammate William Byron will be driving the No. 17 for Hendrick in Saturday’s race.
Saturday’s NASCAR race at Charlotte needed an overtime finish, like more than half of the Xfinity Series races this year, and the local Cup Series star prevailed.
