The Atlanta Dream narrowly defeated the Indiana Fever 91-90, with contributions from Rhyne Howard and Brittney Griner.
The Atlanta Dream open their home schedule against the Indiana Fever on Thursday night. They unveiled a new court with the statement “Pay Some Respect to Women’s Sports” painted on it.
After squeaking out a one-point win in the final seconds on Tuesday, the visiting Atlanta Dream will look to post their second win in three days against the Indiana Fever on Thursday.
The Fever were propelled by last year’s WNBA Rookie of the Year Caitlin Clark’s triple double (20 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists) and four other starters who finished with double figure scoring. Aliyah Boston had 19 points and 13 rebounds for Indiana while Kelsey Mitchell and Natasha Howard finished with 15 points.
Cunningham, now with the Fever, has been sidelined with a right ankle injury suffered in preseason, ironically, against the Dream. Though she hasn't debuted for Indiana yet, her reunion with Griner was one of the night’s highlights, proving that some bonds go beyond team colors.
The Dream roster now includes 10-time All-Star Brittney Griner, three-time All-Star Brionna Jones and 2024 Sixth Player of the Year runner-up Shatori Walker-Kimbrough.
