The Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing will allow mountain lions, bobcats and other wildlife to travel between the Simi Hills and the Santa Monica Mountains over a 10-lane freeway.

There was the idea that first simmered in the minds and hearts of nature champions around Southern California and beyond years ago, the breaking of the ground on Earth Day 2022, the "early adopter" seen flying over the under-construction pass in 2024, and the first public tour of the site.

After the soil is laid across the nearly 1-acre native wildlife habitat site, about 5,000 native shrubs and wildflowers collected from the surrounding area will be planted on the crossing.
