Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem confirmed in a post on X that the victims of the Washington, D.C., shootings, which took place at about 9 p.m. Wednesday less than a mile from the White House, were members of the "Israeli Embassy Staff."

The shooting claimed the lives of a man and women who worked at the Israeli Embassy and were about to be engaged, according to officials.
