The interim president of Columbia University is stepping down, the school announced Friday, a week after announcing sweeping policy changes – seemingly bowing to the Trump administration’s demands conditioned on federal funding.

Interim president Katrina Armstrong returned to her post running the New York school's medical center after news the university acquiesced to sweeping demands from the White House.

Columbia University has agreed to implement a host of policy changes, including overhauling its rules for protests and conducting an immediate review of its Middle Eastern studies department.
