The Theodore Roosevelt Council was chartered in 1917 to administer the Scouting program in Nassau County. The Council name pays tribute to the first Council Commissioner and the 26th President of the United States, Theodore Roosevelt and is home to the nation’s first Eagle Scout, Arthur R. Eldred, from Rockville Centre, N.Y.
